Oslo is both the capital of Norway and the most populous city. Founded in 1040 under the name Ánslo, it has gone through numerous transitions over the centuries, both in name and prominence. It got its current name in 1925. As in its early days, it is a hub of trade and commerce, as well as a key location within the maritime industries.
